   LAS PLANTAS COMO RECURSO EN LA ELABORACIÓN DE CREMAS NATURALES

          

Realización de productos naturales con plantas recolectadas por los propios alumnos. Actividad realizada en inglés con recetas y vocabulario de ingredientes en este idioma. Doble objetivo: aprendizaje de vocabulario de plantas y culinario y  realización de una crema de labios de caléndula y un agua de colonia de rosas.

        Nivel educativo : 4ºesodiver

    

        Áreas implicadas: Inglés

        Actividad 1 : vocabulario básico de cocina y de ingredientes

        Actividad 2 : realización de bálsamo labial

        Actividad 3 : realización de Agua de Rosas

                                                              Actividad 1 : 

        Como paso previo los alumnos buscarán en internet y en inglés información relacionada con la ca-

        léndula - Marygold - y la Rosa - Rose Bush - su ubicación, características, propiedades y usos más

        comunes. Después de una puesta en común se registrarán las palabras más significativas para su

        aprendizaje. 

        A continuación el profesor hará una revisión de vocabulario culinario así como de los ingredientes 

        que se van a utilizar en las próximas actividades. La lengua vehicular será en todo momento el

        inglés.

        Sugerencias de vocabulario:  tablespoon, teaspoon, chop, simmer, grate, herbal tea, melt, heat, stir,

        remove, boil,  contairners, jar, shea butter, bee wax, oil, wax drops, pot, mint, basil, petals, herbal
        tea mixture.

                                                             Actividad 2  : 

         Realización de Bálsamo Labial de Caléndula - Marygold Lip Balm-

         Ingredients: 

                1 tablespoon  of shea butter

                3 tablespoons of Marygold Herbal Oil *

                1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon of bees wax

                10/15 drops of essential oil of choice

                a few drops of vitamin E 

        Use bee wax drops. Place butter, bee wax, oil in a Pyrex pot and heat until everything has melted.

        Remove and stir in the essential oil and vitamin E oil. Pour the mixture into small containers.

        

              *  Herbal Oil : 

       

               Organic olive Oil

               Organic Calendula flowers

       Place flowers in a dry jar. Pour olive oil into the jar making sure to cover the flowers. Stir and cap 

       the jar. Place the jar in a warm sunny windowsill and shake once or more per day. After 4/6 weeks

       strain the herbs out with cheese cloth. Put the infused oil into glass bottles and store in cool dark
       place.

                                

                                                               Actividad 3 :

             Realización de Agua de Colonia de Rosas - Rose Eau de Toilette-

             Ingredients :

             1/2 a cup of vodka

             4 tablespoons of fresh rose petals

             2 tablespoons of grated lemon skin

             2 tablespoons of grated orange skin

             1 tablespoon of fresh basil

             1 tablespoon of fresh mint

             1/4 litre of boiling water

             Simmer the rose petals in the vodka for one week. Mash the leaves and add them to boiling 

             water together with the skin of the lemon and the orange to make a herbal tea. Mix the vodka 

             and the tea in the end.
